Dr. James mcelroy, D.C.
Dr. James started his life in La Mesa but grew up in Nashua, New Hampshire. Upon graduating from High School, he returned to San Diego to get a BS in Biochemisty at the University of California San Diego. During his time at UCSD, he played lacrosse and became a storied member of the ski and snowboard club. After college, James entered the biotech world in La Jolla. He soon grew uninspired by the allopathic model and started to think more about a holistic wellness platform of healthcare. During this time, he continued to stay active playing on multiple softball teams, though it was a pick-up soccer injury that sent James to a chiropractor. He found the chiropractic approach to be a breath of fresh air that soon inspired him to enroll at Life Chiropractic College West.
James greatly enjoyed studying the science, art and philosophy of chiropractic. During his final year as an intern, Dr. James was selected to travel to Accra, Ghana to provide chiropractic care in orphanages, hospitals and surrounding villages. He considers himself fortunate to have witnessed chiropractic miracles and hundreds of lives changed through natural chiropractic care. Dr. James believes that by keeping the nervous system free of interference, the body can stay connected to its natural healing ability, stay dis-ease free and express health to its fullest potential.
Dr. James received his Doctorate in Chiropractic from LCCW and returned to San Diego. Today he practices as part of a team at Essential chiropractic studio in La Mesa. He has a passion for helping families stay healthy and active through natural, holistic means. He is certified in the Webster Technique by the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA) and loves to work with soon-to-be mothers and their children because he knows healthy children become healthy adults. Dr. James also has extensive experience with athletes and enjoys helping them optimize their performance and prevent injuries.
His mission is to help his patients be better at whatever it is they love to do and to provide the opportunity for them to reach their full innate potentential. While Dr. James believes that laughter may be the best medicine (with the least side effects), he is serious about health.
